Today we are highlighting the International Journal of Person-Centered Medicine. Launched in 2011, this Journal is dedicated to the development of the theory and practice of Person-Centered Medicine (PCM). It features contributions from doctors, nurses, the allied professions and all those clinical and non-clinical colleagues with an interest in, or responsibility for, the development and application of person-centred approaches to clinical care and public health.
One of the journal’s most-read articles is Margit Schmolke’s ‘Person-centred Psychodynamic Perspectives’, which advocates the use of psychodynamic skills in health-care situations in order to tailor the treatments to the complexities of each patient’s unique personality and life history.
